
PITTSBURGH, Pa - The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced their All-American and All-Academic awards for fall sports this past week. 3 players from Penn State Shenango were honored.
Sr. Zarah Hershberger, So. Jill Dunleavy and So. Emily Bortnick were all named to the USCAA All-Academic Team for the 2022 season. This award is given to student-athletes who have earned at least 24 credit hours, and maintained a GPA of at least a 3.5. Hershberger is a marketing/management major, Dunleavy a criminal justice major, and Bortnick a nurising major.
So. Emily Bortnick was named to the USCAA Honorable Mention list for All-Americans. This past season she managed some impressive stats although only amassing 1 win for the season. Bortnick, a setter, had 57 kills, 48 service aces, 13 blocks, 192 digs, and 226 assists on the season.
