Lady Lions Snap Losing Streak with a Home Win Over DuBois

SHARON, Pa - Shenango came out ready to play yesterday at Buhl Gym, and they battled through to notch another win in the PSUAC leaving them with 4-9 on the season.

"We knew after a 6 game losing streak and the fact that Aneziah was injured, we really had something to prove this game," Coach Reid remarked.

This is the third game newcomer Toni Donaldson made an appearance, and her first start on the year. Donaldson notched 14 points, 2 steals, and 2 3-pointers last night in the win. Jaysina Sellers and Hailee Aguinaga both notched 8 points of their own, and Aguinaga grabbed 14 boards for the night. Freshman Mikayla Jumper really seemed to find her groove as well with 13 points. A major highlight from last night came from Freshman Mya McNevin, who scored a career high 18 points. McNevin saw over 20 minutes of play, almost more than she has seen all season, and she came out on fire. With assists from Jumper and Aguinaga, McNevin found holes in the DuBois defense to set up her jump shot.

DuBois didn't go down without a fight. With a total of 5 lead changes and 3 ties throughout the game, DuBois saw their largest lead in the first quarter as they came off the bench firing. Both teams had a battle of 3-pointers as DuBois attempted 42 throughout the night. Tara Hinderliter and Maddie Steiner both had 16 points, while Shick added in 8 of her own.

Shenango Lady Lions will be back home on Saturday vs. PSU Wilkes Barre.
