Penn State Shenango Battles Hard but Falls Short Against Penn State DuBois

Despite a strong offensive showing and a dominant performance on the boards, Penn State Shenango came up just short in a high-scoring contest against Penn State DuBois, falling 94-89. Shenango fought hard throughout the game, led by standout efforts from multiple players, but ultimately couldn't overcome DuBois' efficient shooting.

D'Montez Owens led the offensive charge for Shenango, pouring in a team-high 21 points while also dishing out six assists and grabbing two steals. Izzy Santiago was a force in the paint, recording a monster double-double with 20 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. Malik Davis provided a well-rounded performance, tallying 16 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, while Devin Alston added eight points, four rebounds, and four assists. Off the bench, Garrett Hamrick gave Shenango valuable minutes, scoring six points and grabbing five rebounds.

As a team, Shenango shot 42.0% from the field and connected on 38.5% of their three-point attempts, knocking down 10 shots from beyond the arc. They also controlled the glass, outrebounding DuBois 44-38, including 10 offensive boards that led to second-chance opportunities. However, their 13 turnovers and DuBois' strong shooting performance (44.2% overall, 35.3% from three) proved to be the difference in the tightly contested game.

With this result, Shenango looks to regroup quickly as they prepare to return to action on Saturday in a crucial road matchup against Penn State Fayette.
