SHARON, PA – The Penn State Shenango Men's and Women's Basketball teams have announced their schedules for the 2023-24 season. The Shenango women will play 25 games and the Shenango men will play the maximum 30.
The seasons begin with a doubleheader on the road at Kent State-Tuscarawas on November 1st, and the home slates kick off with a doubleheader on November 7th vs Villa Maria. Each team will travel to Buffalo for an early-season tournament the first weekend of November, and the men will play in the annual Buzz Ridl classic at Westminster College the following weekend. The first conference games for each team come on November 17th as they host Penn State Scranton.
Women's Head Coach Cimone Reid said of the upcoming campaign, "We are very excited about our upcoming season here at Penn State Shenango. Our schedule is competitive and will push us to give it our all every night. We look forward to having a successful season and continuing to build our program."
Men's Head Coach Bruce Johnson went in-depth with his thoughts for the season, "As is customary, we pride ourselves on playing a highly competitive non-conference schedule. Conference play is rigorous, so it's important that we accurately simulate that in our non-conference opponents. We are hopeful as always that our incredible community continues to come out, as they have, to support us in and out of conference play at the Buhl Club. We are set to return 9 gentlemen while adding 16 newcomers. We think this is the strongest group we've had in three years and we're looking forward to the commencement of the academic year."
