PENN STATE SHENANGO GRABS CLUTCH WIN ON SENIOR NIGHT OVER NEW KENSINGTON, 93-81

SHARON, PA- Penn State Shenango secured a critical victory on Friday night over Penn State New Kensington, 93-81. With the win, combined with a Penn State Beaver loss, 68-67 to Penn State Fayette the Lions need only to win on Saturday afternoon to take the third seed in the PSUAC conference tournament. That would mean a return trip to Penn State Greater Allegheny on Tuesday night where the Lions lost 65-57 back in December.

Penn State Shenango (10-14, 10-8) rode on the stellar performance of Tyler James with 20 points and 15 rebounds while Donovan Verges cashed in on 18 markers and 11 off the boards. BJ Williams had a good night as well with 16 points and 7 assists. Brayden Martin (Grove City) added another 13.

Jamison Nee led the Penn State New Kensington (4-21) effort with 19 points while Wilson Rojas added 15 more.

The Lions return to the Buhl Recreation Center Saturday afternoon, game time 2:00 PM to face Penn State Scranton (7-17) in a make up game rescheduled from January 18th due to inclement weather.

The game will also be broadcasted live on the radio home of the Lions WPIC AM 790.
