LIONS LOSE IN KEY CONFERENCE MATCH UP TO PENN STATE BEAVER, 77-66

MONACA, PA- Penn State Shenango gave a valiant effort Tuesday night, on the road at Penn State Beaver, but couldn't keep pace with the sharp shooting efforts of John Foster. The 6-1 senior guard from Austin, Texas lit up the nets for 34 points connecting on 12 of 20 from the floor and 8 of 9 from the charity stripe and added 10 rebounds along the way. The Lions got behind early but couldn't overcome the deficit getting as close as four points down in the second half but no closer. 

Donovan Verges led the Lions with 18 points and 11 off the boards while BJ Williams chipped in with 15 points and 6 rebounds.

With the loss Penn State Shenango falls to the fourth seed in the PSUAC west with a 9-8 record while Beaver jumps into the third spot at 10-8. Beaver finishes their regular season schedule on Friday night on the road at Penn State Fayette. Penn State Shenango finishes their regular season this weekend with a pair of home games. Friday night the Lions will play Penn State New Kensington (7:30 start time) and return on Saturday afternoon for a weather make up game versus Penn State Scranton at 2:00 PM. Both games will be played at the home of the Lions, the Buhl Recreation Center, and aired live on WPIC 790 AM radio.
