PENN STATE SHENANGO TAKES A TOUGH LOSS AT HOME AGAINST FAYETTE, 68-65

SHARON, PA- Things got a little tighter in the PSUAC West standings on Saturday afternoon with Penn State Shenango losing at home to Penn State Fayette, 68-65. Meanwhile, on the south side of the state Penn State Beaver took Greater Allegheny in overtime, 63-62 and Penn State DuBois barely handled New Kensington, 96-92 in another overtime thriller. Now a mere game and a half stands between Shenango (9-7), Beaver (9-8), and DuBois (8-9) with Penn State Shenango squaring off against Penn State Beaver this Tuesday night in Monaca.

On Saturday the Lions played nip and tuck basketball all afternoon with Penn State Fayette, now 9-14 overall and 7-10 in the conference, with Brayden Martin (Grove City) pulling Shenango within 1 point, 66-65, with 13.8 seconds remaining. The Lions couldn't overcome the 3 point clutch shooting of Tavian Mozie who hit 6 of 11 from behind the arc and finished with 21 points and 5 assists. Justin Craigg and Joshua Hankins tallied 15 and 14 respectively while Iman Young led the team with 8 off the boards.

Penn State Shenango was led once again by Donovan Verges with 19 points and 7 rebounds while Martin added another 15.

Tuesday night's contest versus Penn State Beaver will be broadcasted live on the radio home of the Lions, WPIC 790 AM. James Dotson and Skip Clary will be on the call.
