MEDIA, PA- After taking on every challenge a coach could imagine this season in keeping his players on the court, Head Coach Geoff Evans had his Lions ready to play once again this weekend. After a convincing win on Friday night versus Penn State Lehigh Valley, 81-44, the Evans led Lions took on Penn State Brandywine on Saturday afternoon and won another one sided contest 88-68.

The dynamic duo of sophomore forward Tyler James and junior forward Donovan Verges led the Lion's pack with James canning 17 on Friday night while Verges collected 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both shared high scoring honors with 27 on Saturday with James also pulling down 10 off the boards.

Junior guard Hesro Johnson III led Penn State Lehigh Valley on Friday night with 26 points while the guard combo of senior Pat Gallagher (18 points) and junior Ketquan Gatewood (16 points) led the Brandywine effort on Saturday.

With the pair of wins, combined with a Penn State Beaver (now 6-6 in the conference) loss on Friday night and a Penn State Fayette (also 6-6) loss on Saturday, Penn State Shenango (6-5) is squarely in the mix for a conference tournament bid while setting up a showdown match up versus Beaver on Tuesday night at the Buhl Recreation Center. Tip off is slated for 7:00 PM.

Penn State Shenango now plays 7 of their last 8 games of the regular season against PSUAC western division opponents. The last game of the season is scheduled for February 22nd versus Penn State Scranton, a weather make up game from last weekend.
