LIONS STAY CLOSE ALL NIGHT, LOSE IN FINAL SECONDS, 73-70

MONT ALTO, PA- Tyler James' incredible night still wasn't enough to overcome a powerful Penn State Mont Alto team on Tuesday night as the Lions fell 73-70. James, a 6-6 sophomore, racked up 26 points and pulled down 17 boards for the game followed closely by Donovan Verges, a 6-7 junior, with 20 points and 9 rebounds.

The Lions came within 1 point at 71-70 with 17 seconds left on the clock until Marcus Roper, of Mont Alto (12-2, 9-0) sealed the game with two made free throws.

Mont Alto was led by the conferences reigning Player of the Week, JR Powe with 22 points and 7 rebounds while the team's leading scorer Quintyn Flemister had a full night with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 7 steals. The Lions kept it close all night mostly by a strong effort on the boards outrebounding Mont Alto 46-31.

Penn State Shenango (3-10, 3-5) now has a couple of nights off before taking on the USCAA, Division II number 1 ranked team in Penn State Wilkes Barre this Friday night at the Buhl Recreation Center. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
