PENN STATE SHENANGO FALLS IN SUNDAY EXHIBITION, 75-47

ASHLAND, OHIO- Penn State Shenango traveled to Ashland, Ohio on Sunday afternoon to take on the NCAA Division II Golden Eagles prior to the Holiday break. The Lions came up short falling 75-47 after a strong defensive showing in the first half.

After trailing by only five at intermission, 26-21, the Golden Eagles, now 7-4, went on a 20-0 run to start the second half and never looked back. Led by Division II All American candidate Drew Noble (20 points and 8 rebounds), Ashland out rebounded the Lions for the game finishing with 43 to the Lions 27. Rodrick Caldwell also added 16 while Derek Koch added 14. Both players are transfers from Bowling Green University.

The Lions were led once again by Tyrone Steals (New Castle, PA) with 12 points and 5 rebounds while Donovan Verges chipped in with 8 points and 7 off the boards. 

The game will not count toward the Lions overall record as it is scheduled as an exhibition contest.

After the Holiday break the Lions return to the floor to take on Akron Wayne on January 8th at the Buhl Recreation Center. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM.
