Effinite Named USCAA Female Golf Student-Athlete of the Year

Penn State Shenango Senior Gianna Effinite was named the USCAA Female Golf Student-Athlete of the Year at a ceremony during the USCAA National Championships in State College, PA.  This award is given to one athlete per USCAA sport on an annual basis for their merit, academic performance, and community involvement along with their performance in competition.  The award was selected by a committee of National Office members, board members, and Athletic Directors.

"Gianna is one of the hardest working, well rounded, caring individuals I have ever coached at any level."  Said Head Coach Tom Roskos, "Her dedication and commitment is unmatched, and they could not have selected a more deserving student-athlete."

This isn't the first time Effinite has been recognized on the national level, earlier this season she was named a "Golfer of the Week" by the USCAA. At the national championship tournament, Gianna concluded her career by finishing 11th in the country.
