Shenango Golf Hosts First Annual Glow Golf Scramble

Shenango Golf Hosts First Annual Glow Golf Scramble

SHARON, Pa - On Thursday, October 20 the Penn State Shenango golf team paired up with the Shenango Alumni Society to host a glow golf scramble.

Head Coach Tom Roskos along with the players, only had 3 weeks to plan the event. "We discovered there were some instances we did not account for," said Roskos. "So, we decided to host a different type of event as both a fundraiser, and a way for the players to interact with individuals who have supported us behind the scences." The Shenango Alumni Society generously donated funds to assist in the start up costs for the inaugural season.

The event was held at the Buhl Park Golf Course, where 10 teams and 11 sponsors showed their support for the team. The mini-scramble began at 6:30pm with glow in the dark golf balls, flashlights, and glow sticks assisting the golfers throughout the 9-hole course. "You don't see this type of event in this area, so it was really neat to see how it all came together," said Darren Steele, Alumni Society President and participant.

The team plans to host the event in the Spring as well.
