DuBois Power Surge Overwhelms Shenango in Game One, Rain Halts Game Two

Eastwood Field witnessed a high-scoring affair as Penn State DuBois defeated Penn State Shenango 13-6 in the first game of their scheduled doubleheader on March 28th, 2025. Unfortunately, the second game was rained out and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Penn State Shenango's offense put up a valiant effort, racking up 13 hits, but struggled to contain DuBois's potent lineup. Jason Malley delivered a standout performance, launching a home run and driving in four runs. Dominic Fornataro also contributed significantly, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Troy Bachman added a double and an RBI as well. Mikey Guarnieri chipped in with two hits.

Despite the offensive highlights, Shenango's pitching staff faced a tough challenge. Remington Hart (0-2) took the loss, surrendering six runs in just 1.1 innings. The Shenango pitching staff as a whole walked 4 and hit 2 DuBois batters. Defensively, Shenango committed two errors, both charged to Nate Evans.

Dominic Fornataro and JA Quahliero both had solid days at the plate. Fornataro added a double to his stat line. Quahliero managed a hit and two walks.

DuBois's offense was relentless, scoring in multiple innings and capitalizing on Shenango's miscues. Connor Cherry (3-0) earned the win for Du Bois, pitching a complete game and allowing six runs on 13 hits.

The second game of the doubleheader was called off due to rain, leaving fans and players alike anticipating the rescheduled matchup. Details regarding the make-up game will be released at a later time.
