Shenango Unveils Inaugural Baseball Schedule

Sharon, PA - Penn State Shenango Athletics has officially released the inaugural Men's Baseball schedule for the 2024 season.

The team will play the entirety of its first season as an independent school within the USCAA before joining the PSUAC for conference play in 2024-25.

The schedule includes 17 home games, most of which will be played in a double-header format. It will also include a 9-game road stint in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for what will become the team's annual Spring Training trip. Shenango will play all home games at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio.

Head Coach Carmen Nocera is excited about the upcoming season and has one goal in mind, making the USCAA Small College World Series.

"We swing it well and play good defense. If our pitching does well, we can be very competitive in our first year," said Nocera. "Our goal is to get into the playoffs and make a run."

Opening day of the spring season for the Shenango Lions will be a road scrimmage at the Westminster College Titans on February 18th, with the first pitch scheduled for 1:30 PM. The regular season will kick-off the following Saturday at home against Penn State Beaver.
