SHARON, PA - The Penn State Shenango Women's Basketball team is off to their best start in the history of the program. They are rolling into the holidays with a 9-2 record, including 8-0 in conference play. The Lady Lions are currently in first place in the Western division of the PSUAC and are the only remaining undefeated team amongst the seven. The team recently concluded a two-game road trip to campuses on the Eastern side of the state, bringing home a 63-48 win over Penn State Wilkes-Barre and a 106-28 win over Penn State Scranton.
The Lions are led by a USCAA Player of the Week and their leading scorer, center Hailee Aguinaga. She currently leads the PSUAC in rebounds per game (14.4) as well as total rebounds (158) and total blocks (23). Toni Donaldson and Kylie Krupp both rank in the top 10 in the PSUAC for 3-point shooting percentage, with 42.1% and 32.1%, respectively.
The team has two more non-conference games against Carlow (home - Dec. 19th) and Lourdes (away - Dec. 21st) before enjoying a well-deserved break. They will be back in action January 14 when they continue PSUAC play against Penn State Lehigh Valley, who is also currently undefeated in conference play.
