Coach LeVon Lamb comes to Penn State Shenango after spending the last five years as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Liberty High School in Liberty, Ohio. Coach Lamb has 26 years of coaching experience with both boys’ and girls’ varsity, junior varsity, junior high and AAU basketball teams.
Coach Lamb is an alumnus of West Virginia University, where he received a four-year basketball scholarship to play under Gale Catlett. While at WVU, the Mountaineers made postseason appearances in the NIT twice. He was selected to the Pre-Season All Freshman Team once and was a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
Coach Lamb is a native of Youngstown, Ohio, graduating from Rayen High School in 1992. At Rayen, he was an outstanding basketball player earning numerous awards such as All-State selections his junior and senior years, Northeast Ohio High School Player of the Year, Rayen High School All-Time leading scorer (with over 1,400 points), Ohio High Boys/Girls All-State Basketball Annual Classic Slam Dunk Champion (1991 & 1992), Four-Year Basketball Letterman and nominated McDonald’s All-American. Coach Lamb played basketball for the All-Ohio National AAU Basketball team out of Columbus, Ohio.
Coach Lamb graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in 1996. He is currently employed with the State of Ohio Division of Adult Parole and Community Service. He still lives in Liberty, Ohio with his wife, and the couple has three children and two grandchildren.
The 2024-25 season will mark the first at Penn State Shenango for Coach Lamb.
