LIONS FALL 84-82  TO THIEL COLLEGE WITH 2.5 SECONDS LEFT ON THE CLOCK

NEW WILMINGTON, PA- In the first round of the Buzz Ridl Classic, hosted by Westminster College, Nyric Gosley canned his lone 3 pointer of the contest with 4.5 seconds left on the clock to tie the score at 82. Following an errant inbounds pass by Brayden Martin, Ahmad Tejumola received the ball in the paint on the next possession to put the Tomcats ahead for good with 2.5 seconds left to seal Thiel College's first win of the season.

In a game marred by fouls, both squads shot a total of 90 times from the charity stripe with Penn State Shenango dropping 30 and the Tomcats hitting 31. Tejumola, a 6-8 sophomore from Waldorf, Maryland, finished the game with 19 points anf 8 rebounds while Gosley a 6-2 senior from Williamsport, PA) ended with 16. Devon Christian chipped in with 13.

With Lions bigman Anthony Bailey out with a hand injury, Larry Ransom, Jr, took matters into his own hands showing last year's conference leading rebounding form collecting 16 boards on the night and adding 13 points.

With the Lions down 40-33 at the half the team slowly crawled back into the picture when Ramell Askerneese tied the score from the line at 47, then put the Penn State Shenango ahead with a clutch 3 pointer 18 seconds later. The Lions stretched the lead to 10 at the 3 minute mark, 74-64, but couldn't hold on.

Penn State Shenango returns to the Westminster College floor on Saturday night to face the Titans with a tip off time at 6:00 PM.
