Mark Dell joins Penn State Shenango as the Athletic Trainer following several different roles in both the high school and collegiate settings. He earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Youngstown State University in 2015 and went on to complete his master’s degree in Athletic Training from YSU in 2018. During his graduate studies, Dell gained extensive clinical experience working with St. Elizabeth Hospital’s orthopedic trauma department, YSU football, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s basketball strength and conditioning, and Struthers High School athletics. After graduation, he began his professional career at Youngstown East High School, where he served as the athletic trainer for six years, before transitioning to the urgent care setting at QuickMed for one year.

With a strong focus in physical rehabilitation and orthopedics, Dell specializes in sports medicine and is passionate about supporting athletes through injury prevention, recovery, and performance optimization. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his four boys and staying physically active. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dell values the lessons of resilience, teamwork, and perseverance that athletics provide and looks forward to helping Penn State Shenango’s student-athletes excel both on and off the court.
