LADY LIONS ROAR IN HAPPY VALLEY

STATE COLLEGE, PA- On day one of the PSUAC Crossover Challenge the Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball team secured two victories in convincing fashion to improve their record to 5-8 overall on the season and 3-5 in the conference.

In a hard fought match one, the Lady Lions took on PSU Lehigh Valley and came out on top in five sets 22-25, 27-25, 25-9, 20-25, and 15-11. In match two the Lady Lions bested PSU Wilkes Barre in three sets 25-0, 25-7, and 25-9.

Ashley Haylett, (Sophomore Setter from Conneaut Lake, PA) led Penn State Shenango with 25 assists while Katie Richards (Junior Outside Hitter from West Middlesex, PA) led the team with 16 kills.

In match two Ashley Haylett led the way again with 20 service aces while Olivia Vogel (Freshman Middle Hitter from Brookfield, OH) registered 13 of the teams 23 total kills.

Penn State Shenango returns to the court again tomorrow in day two of the tournament, this time in historic Rec Hall. In their first match, the Lady Lions face off against PSU Scranton (1-7, 1-4) at noon then return for their final match of the tournament against PSU York (3-7, 2-4) at 2:00pm.
