PENN STATE SHENANGO FALLS TWICE AT PENN STATE ALTOONA

The Penn State Shenango Lady Lions didn't hold back taking on two highly respected teams in the NCAA, Division III world in their historic return to the volleyball floor on Saturday afternoon. Playing in their first matches in the modern era, Penn State Shenango took on Chatham University and lost in three sets (25-15, 26-24, 25-15) then took on Penn State Altoona on their home court, Alder Arena, also losing in three (25-4, 25-20, 25-15),

The Lady Lions fought valiantly all afternoon with Katie Richards (West Middlesex, PA) posting 11 kills in the second match, with Jenna Bournemiss (Girard, Ohio) collecting 10 assists and 8 digs and Ashley Haylett (Conneaut Lake, PA) with 7 assists and 6 digs. Donique Marcella (Kennedy Catholic H.S.) chipped in with 10 digs as well in the second match.

The Lady Lions return to action on Sunday, September 8th, to open their conference schedule at Penn State Mont Alto. Opening serve is set for 2:00pm in the Heiges Fieldhouse on the campus of Shippensburg University.
