PENN STATE SHENANGO TOPPLES 2ND RANKED WILKES BARRE, 63-57

SHARON, PA- Led by Brayden Martin's (Grove City, PA) 16 points the Penn State Shenango Lions surged to a 15 point lead at intermission and never looked back to knock off the second ranked team in this week's USCAA, Division II polls. Penn State Wilkes Barre (12-2, 7-2), this year's defending national champion, hit the first jumper of the game, at the 18:30 mark, but never led after that as Penn State Shenango (4-10, 4-5) took control the rest of the way.

Martin finished with 21 on the night, hitting on 5-8 from behind the arc while Tyler James added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Donovan Verges chipped in with 14 points and 7 off the boards.

Senior guard Kahlil White led Wilkes Barre with 17.

The win puts the Lions back in the conference tournament hunt, just one game behind Penn State Beaver and Penn State Fayette both currently sitting at 5-4 in the conference.

The Lions will take on non conference opponent Fredonia State (4-7) on the road on Tuesday night at 6:00 PM before returning to conference action next weekend on Friday versus Penn State Lehigh Valley (1-13, 1-7) and Saturday at Penn State Brandywine (1-13, 1-8).
