LIONS NAB FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON AGAINST CONFERENCE RIVAL PENN STATE FAYETTE, 71-48

LEMONT FURNACE, PA- Penn State Shenango took to the road for the third time in five days and brought home their first win of the season 71-48 against PSUAC West opponent Penn State Fayette.

The Lions defense stood out all game long holding Fayette to 15 of 52 (29%) shooting and forcing 26 turnovers.

The Lions took a 10 point lead into halftime (32-22) and quickly built it to 25 (55-30) at the midway point of the second frame. Tyler James, a sophomore from Warren JFK, led all scorers with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Tyrone Steals (New Castle, PA) chipped in with 13.

Dominic Boring led Penn State Fayette with 13 points and Junior Salauca added 15 boards.

Penn State Shenango improved their record to 1-4 (1-0 in the conference) while Penn State Fayette dropped to 1-5 (0-1 in the conference).

The Lions return to the floor again this Friday night versus Penn State Mont Alto. Game time is 7:00 pm at the Buhl Recreation Center.
