PENN STATE SHENANGO BATTLES EARLY BUT FALLS IN SLIPPERY ROCK EXHIBITION, 84-65

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA- The Penn State Shenango Lions took on adverse weather conditions to travel to Slippery Rock University in an exhibition matchup on Tuesday night. With the game  tied at 33 at intermission Slippery Rock finally took control of the game in the second frame led by Donovan Walker (senior from Burtonsville, Maryland) finishing the night with 19 points and 10 boards in 27 minutes.

The Lions went on an 18-4 run in the first half to erase a 10 point deficit but couldn't hold on as the Rockets tallied 20 second half points in the paint to over power Penn State Shenango by a final score of 84-65.

Penn State Shenango was led by Tyler James (Warren JFK) with 10 points and 6 rebounds in 32 minutes, while Larry Ransom, Jr. (Youngstown East) and Malcolm Rouse chipped in with 11 a piece. The Lions were impressive from behind the 3 point stripe all night long canning 9-21 overall, 6-9 in the first half.

Penn State Shenango returns to the court Friday night on the road when they take on Thiel College in the Buzz Ridl Classic on the campus of Westminster College. The Lions return on Saturday night to play the Titans. Tip off for both games is set for 6:00 PM.
