LIONS LOSE IN OVERTIME HEARTBREAKER TO KENT STATE TUSCARAWAS, 85-78

SHARON, PA- Looking to avenge last season's come from behind loss to Kent State Tuscarawas, the Lion's were hitting on all cylinders Wednesday night until the 3:00 minute mark of the second half. Former Lion Arthur Jackson hit a jumper in the paint with 3 minutes left to tie the score at 62 in a game where Penn State Shenango led the entire way prior to that point.

Just when it looked like all was lost John Brown (New Castle, PA) hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 68 just before the final buzzer sounded. With a deafening Buhl Recreation Center crowd behind them going into overtime, the Lion's couldn't hold on being outscored 17-10 in the final frame.

Jackson led the Golden Eagles (1-1) with 18 points and 8 rebounds while Braden Rostad chipped in with 16 makers on the night. The Lions held Golden Eagles scoring leader Gunnar Tharp to 4 points on the night and 1-11 shooting from the floor. 

For Penn State Shenango, now 0-2 on the season, Tyler James (Warren JFK High School) led the way with 19 points and 12 boards. Brayden Martin (Grove City, PA) added 15 and John Brown (New Castle, PA) finished with 14 on the night.

The Lions will next go on the road to play an exhibition contest versus Slippery Rock University on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
