Coach Larry Kelly comes to Shenango as a former varsity baseball at Slippery Rock University. Thereafter, he began his collegiate coaching career at Westminster College where he was an assistant to coach Nocera from 2008 to 2012, helping the Titans win the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championship in his final year. Kelly was also the head varsity baseball coach at Shenango High School from 2020 to 2023. During his tenure there, the Wildcats won the WPIAL championship in 2021 and finish second in the state that same year. The Wildcats also won section championships in 2021 and 2022.
Kelly served as an assistant varsity basketball coach at New Castle High School from 2010 through 2020. During that time the Red Hurricanes won a state championship in 2014 and six WPIAL championships.
The 2023-24 season will mark the first at Penn State Shenango for Coach Kelly.
