Coach Kevin Hoffman comes to Shenango from just down the road in West Middlesex, where he was a 1981 graduate of West Middlesex High School, in which he participated in football, basketball, and baseball.

After high school, Kevin attended Geneva College, where he graduated with a dual degree in Business Administration and Business Education. During his time at Geneva as a player, he helped them capture two District 18 Titles, while twice finishing one game short of the NAIA World Series.  Individually, Kevin started as a catcher for four years and was selected to the District 18 All-District Team all four times, the All-Area 8 team twice, and earned Honorable Mention honors for the NAIA All-American team twice.

In 1986, he started teaching and has been in the profession for 38 years. During this time, Kevin earned his Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration from Slippery Rock University.  From 1991 to 1997, he was the Head Coach at Sharon High School, compiling a record of 115-44 while winning five Mercer County crowns in the years of 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996.  In addition, these teams added two District X titles during the years of 1992 and 1996.

When he left Sharon, he volunteered his time as a coach in the West Middlesex Little League for 15 years.  In 2019, he obtained the West Middlesex High School Head Coaching position, where they finished 23-1, earning a Region Championship Title, a District X Championship, and a State Championship Title. He resigned in 2021 to watch his son, Kazton, play college baseball and his oldest son, Kolten, replaced him as the Head Coach.  During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, he rejoined the Big Reds as an Assistant Coach. During this time, they captured two more District X Championships.

The 2023-24 season will mark the first at Penn State Shenango for Coach Hoffman.
